How PERA is Addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic

PERA recognizes that the COVID-19 global pandemic is creating uncertainty and concern among our members. We want to reassure you that your benefits are safe and that we are conducting normal business practices.

Although our Santa Fe and Albuquerque offices are closed to the public, there are several ways you can still reach us:

  • Our Customer Service Call Center remains open and our representatives are available to assist you Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm by calling 505-476-9300 or 1 (800) 342-3422 (toll-free). As we are facing an influx of calls please feel free to leave a voicemail and someone will reach out. Please do not wait on hold for more than 10 minutes. At that point, we encourage you to reach out by email.
  • Our Member Services email remains open and our representatives are available to assist you Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm by emailing: PERA-memberservices@state.nm.us and/or PERA-Albuquerque@state.nm.us.
  • You can email your completed forms to: noreply.records@state.nm.us.
  • If you need to drop off documentation (ex: Disability Retirement, Service Credit Purchase, Retirement Kit, etc.) please utilize our secure drop box located in front of our Santa Fe office. This drop off site is being checked on a daily basis. You are welcome to follow-up on your documentation by calling or emailing us.
  • PERA will continue to process documents sent by U.S. mail and route them for processing.
  • You can view your account information in your RIO Self-Service account.
  • We encourage you to visit www.nmpera.org for forms, kits, handbooks and other retirement information. To provide you with timely answers, we have complied answers to frequently asked questions we’re getting from our active and retired members.
  • We are offering virtual General Seminars twice a month. Please visit www.nmpera.org to register and attend via your computer or mobile device.

We know this is a difficult time for you and your loved ones, so please stay health and safe and know that you can count on your PERA team to there with you when you need us.
